DESCRIPTION
The Younger 2’s Program aims to create a welcoming, secure, and nurturing setting for young children who are embarking on their educational journey. This program holds particular significance as it often marks the first time children separate from their families and encounter the concept of school. Its primary goal is to ensure each child feels at ease and receives the necessary care, which greatly influences their overall learning experience.
The program's approach revolves around establishing a supportive environment that fosters imaginative play, social skill development, independence, and fundamental self-help abilities. This approach acknowledges that children at this developmental stage absorb knowledge through all their senses and require a diverse range of experiences for effective learning. Consequently, the program provides opportunities for open-ended outdoor play in secure and natural spaces, enabling children to actively explore and engage with their surroundings.
GOALS
Emotional Development: The program centers around fostering healthy independence among children, while also providing instruction on self-calming techniques and seeking assistance from adults when necessary.
Social Development: The program facilitates children's acquisition of skills such as sharing space and resources, seeking positive interactions with both adults and peers, and cultivating empathy towards others. Furthermore, it fosters the development of meaningful connections among children and enables them to experience the delight of attending school.
Cognitive Development: The program acknowledges that children at this stage possess an innate sense of curiosity, and it actively fosters this curiosity by allowing it to guide their interests and inquiries.
Physical Development: The program assists children in cultivating self-help abilities, such as achieving successful self-feeding, accomplishing certain self-help tasks with minimal support, and fostering fundamental small and large motor skills.
In essence, the Younger 2's Program strives to offer a comprehensive learning experience that takes into account a child's complete growth, encompassing their physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development. This approach guarantees their preparedness to embark on the subsequent stages of their educational path.
